Established in 1929, the Indian Creek Country Club has stringent membership requirements. An initiation fee near $1 million and annual dues of approximately $44,000 are customary. Prospective members need sponsorships from two existing members and five letters of recommendation.
However, the club's longtime members are reportedly wary of new wealthy residents, potentially altering the community's character. This stance has led to several high-profile individuals, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Jared Kushner, and Ivanka Trump, also being denied membership despite their Indian Creek Island residency. Some, like Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, have eventually gained entry after a challenging process.
