Jeep India has launched the Compass Sport 9AT at Rs 21.99 lakh, establishing it as the most accessible automatic version of the Compass. This strategic move aims to broaden the appeal of the premium diesel SUV by offering automatic transmission convenience at a lower price point.
The new variant is equipped with Jeep's 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo-diesel engine, delivering 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque. This powertrain is coupled with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, designed for enhanced driving ease, particularly in urban traffic conditions.
Despite its entry-level positioning, the Compass Sport 9AT includes notable features such as six airbags, cruise control, auto hold, and a 21.3 cm Uconnect touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration. It also retains Jeep's FSD suspension and DST system for improved ride and handling.
An optional Accessory Pack, priced at Rs 29,900, offers additional customization options like ambient lighting and a dashcam. Customer deliveries are scheduled to commence in the second week of November across India.
