Jaipur Properties Seized Over Tax Default
3 Jan
Summary
- Five properties attached for unpaid urban development tax.
- Property owners paid Rs 8 lakh to avoid penalties and interest.
- Two marriage halls sealed for failing to pay registration fees.
The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has taken decisive action against urban development (UD) tax defaulters in the Murlipura zone. Five properties were attached on Friday for non-payment of dues. This swift enforcement prompted property owners to immediately settle outstanding amounts totaling around Rs 8 lakh through various payment methods.
Benefiting from the state government's current scheme waiving interest and penalties, the property owners cleared their arrears on the spot. A JMC official stated that this measure ensured transparency and prompt recovery, reinforcing the importance of tax compliance. The attached properties were located in Dev Nagar and JS Colony areas.
