IndiGo has appointed Captain Rohit Rikhye as the new Head of Operations Control Centre (OCC), effective immediately. He replaces Jason Herter in this significant senior management transition. Rikhye, a long-serving employee with over 11 years at the airline, previously held the position of Chief Pilot -- Standards, QA & Ops Safety. This leadership reshuffle follows a period of considerable operational disruptions for IndiGo. In January, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) imposed penalties totaling Rs 22 crore on the airline and mandated the dismissal of a senior vice-president. Rikhye's new role will involve leading the OCC, which is crucial for real-time coordination of flight operations, including planning and tracking. He will also be responsible for crew scheduling and rostering, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and safety guidelines.
