6 May
Summary
- India committed a record $20.5 billion in investments into the United States.
- Over $19.1 billion targets the US pharmaceutical sector for new facilities.
- Combined announcements surpass all previous India-US investment pledges.

Indian corporations have committed a historic $20.5 billion in investments to the United States, marking the largest single-country pledge at the annual SelectUSA Investment Summit. This substantial financial commitment significantly surpasses all prior India-linked investment totals at the event.
The majority of the investment, exceeding $19.1 billion, is directed towards the U.S. pharmaceutical industry. These funds will establish new manufacturing sites, advance research and development centers, and expand existing operations within America. Additional investments are slated for steel, connectivity, energy supply chains, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies.
Further bolstering this figure, 12 Indian companies separately unveiled over $1.1 billion in new greenfield and expansion projects. These initiatives are expected to generate thousands of jobs across various U.S. states in critical sectors like manufacturing, technology, and engineering. This wave of investment aligns with the bilateral goal to double U.S.-India trade to $500 billion by 2030.
