India's LPG Supply Stable Despite War Fears
3 Apr
Summary
- LPG supply in India remains stable and is closely monitored.
- Household LPG cylinder prices increased by Rs 60 effective immediately.
- Global oil price rises due to Middle East conflict impact LPG costs.

India's Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply remains stable and is under continuous monitoring, according to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The company emphasized that domestic LPG is a top priority, ensuring uninterrupted delivery to households nationwide. Approximately 28 lakh LPG cylinders are being delivered daily, with a significant 87% of bookings made through digital platforms.
Recent geopolitical events, particularly the conflict between the US, Iran, and Israel, have caused global disruptions, including commodity supply shortages leading to an LPG crisis in India. Consequently, the price of a 14.2 kg non-subsidised household LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 60 across major cities. This marks the highest price for this cylinder type since August 30, 2023.
Commercial LPG prices have also seen an upward revision, with a 19 kg cylinder increasing by Rs 114.50 in Delhi. This price adjustment is the second increase within a week and the fourth since the beginning of 2026. The rise in fuel costs is directly attributed to the escalation of global oil prices, influenced by energy supply disruptions stemming from the Middle East conflict.
