Indian Railways is set to enhance travel for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays by introducing 244 special train trips. These additional services are strategically deployed across eight key railway zones to accommodate the expected increase in passenger volume from December 21, 2025, onwards.
The expanded network aims to bolster capacity and improve connectivity on popular routes, ensuring passengers can reach their destinations with greater ease during the festive season. Central Railway will operate 76 trips, Western Railway 72, and other zones will also contribute significant numbers to this special service initiative.
Authorities are urging passengers to secure their bookings in advance through the official Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website or reservation counters. This proactive measure by Indian Railways is designed to facilitate smooth and disruption-free travel for millions celebrating the holidays.
