Two Indian vessels, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, carrying a significant cargo of 92,700 tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), have successfully traversed the Strait of Hormuz. The safe passage occurred early on Saturday morning, according to a senior official from the Ministry of Shipping. These vessels are now heading towards the Indian ports of Mundra and Kandla, located in Gujarat.
The journey through the Strait of Hormuz has been fraught with peril due to ongoing conflict in the region. The two LPG carriers were among a total of 24 ships that had been stranded on the western side of the strait since the hostilities commenced. Their successful crossing marks a crucial development for maritime trade and cargo security in the area. The vessels are anticipated to reach their destination ports around March 16 or 17.
