Wealth Management Boom: Two Firms, Two Valuations
1 Aug
Summary
- India's financialization is entering a new phase focusing on wealth management.
- Anand Rathi Wealth's capital-light model yields high ROE, justifying its premium valuation.
- 360 One WAM builds an integrated platform, facing integration costs and lower ROE.

India's financial sector is evolving, moving beyond basic mutual fund investments to sophisticated wealth management services. This transition is creating opportunities for affluent investors to seek professional guidance.
SEBI recently proposed a new MF-PMS category, lowering the investment threshold to ₹25 lakh, which may expand access to managed portfolios. This development reflects the third phase of India's financialization, focusing on wealth management for its growing affluent population.
Two prominent companies, 360 One WAM and Anand Rathi Wealth, are at the forefront of this shift. Anand Rathi Wealth, known for its capital-light, focused wealth advisory model, manages ₹1.06 lakh crore and boasts high profitability with a 46.7% ROE in FY26.
In contrast, 360 One WAM, India's largest dedicated wealth manager, oversees ₹7.76 lakh crore across wealth management, asset management, capital markets, and lending. Its FY26 revenue was ₹3,144 crore, with a net profit of ₹1,225 crore, but its ROE decreased to 13.6% due to investments.
Despite similar growth tailwinds, Anand Rathi Wealth trades at a significantly higher valuation (74x earnings) than 360 One WAM (37x earnings). This disparity stems from Anand Rathi's predictable recurring revenue and capital efficiency versus 360 One's ongoing expansion and integration costs.
Anand Rathi Wealth is now diversifying into mutual fund manufacturing, a move investors will monitor closely for its impact on profitability. 360 One WAM aims to improve its cost-to-income ratio and extract operating leverage from its diverse investments.
Both companies are positioned to benefit from India's early-stage wealth management industry. The key determinant of long-term value will be which business model proves more sustainable and profitable.
