Fuel Prices Stable Amid Global Tensions
4 Apr
Summary
- Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged on April 3.
- Government implemented measures to counter Iran war's impact.
- Customs duties cut for petrochemicals to aid key sectors.

On April 3, petrol and diesel prices in India saw no changes, maintaining their existing rates despite global energy supply uncertainties. The central government has enacted a series of economic relief measures to shield domestic industries and consumers from the adverse impacts of the Iran war, which has disrupted supply chains.
These government initiatives include customs duty reductions on essential raw materials and petrochemical products. Such measures are designed to benefit sectors like plastics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and auto components. Additionally, Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units are now permitted to sell goods domestically at reduced customs duty rates, supporting manufacturing.
In Delhi, as of April 3 at 6 AM, regular petrol was priced at Rs 94.77 per litre, and diesel at Rs 87.67 per litre. Premium fuel variants also saw slight increases in pricing across various cities.
