India Slashes Logistics Costs: Roads Pave Way for Cheaper Goods

This significant improvement is attributed to the extensive development of road infrastructure, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari noting that Rs 1.5 lakh crore is currently being invested in road projects within the National Capital Region (NCR) to further enhance efficiency.
The government is actively pursuing ambitious projects, including the development of 28 access-controlled express highways. Notably, a new bridge from Akshardham for the Delhi-Dehradun Highway is set to drastically cut travel time, making the journey a mere two hours. This focus on connectivity aims to substantially lower transportation expenses across the country.
Beyond logistics, Minister Gadkari is championing a shift away from fossil fuels to combat air pollution, with the transport sector contributing significantly to it. He advocates for the increased adoption of biofuels and hydrogen as cleaner alternatives, expressing a dream to eliminate fossil fuel dependency in India.
