India-Germany Seal 19 Pacts: Defence, Tech, Energy Boost

During a pivotal two-day visit by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, India and Germany formalized 19 agreements and policy announcements, significantly boosting cooperation across strategic, economic, and people-to-people domains. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that a joint declaration on defence industrial cooperation will foster co-innovation and co-production, opening new avenues in the space sector.
The partnership extends to critical and emerging technologies with pacts on semiconductor ecosystems and critical minerals. Energy and sustainability are central, marked by an agreement for green ammonia offtake and a roadmap for higher education, skilling, and mobility, including a new skills center in Hyderabad.
