US Tariffs Threaten India's Top Engineering Market

EEPC India Chairman Pankaj Chadha highlighted these concerns during a Commerce Ministry meeting. Any additional tariffs could further pressure exporters already contending with existing US trade measures. Indian engineering exports to the US amounted to $19.6 billion in the fiscal year 2026, showing a 2.3% year-on-year growth.
The meeting, chaired by Darpan Jain, discussed exporter worries before Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal's visit to the US for the G-20 trade ministerial meeting from September 30 to October 1. Goyal is also scheduled to meet with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to advance ongoing trade discussions.
