15 Mar
Summary
- Government confirms no dry-outs of LPG distributorships nationwide.
- Petrol and diesel supplies are regular, with no reported fuel dry-outs.
- Refineries operate at high capacity, ensuring self-sufficiency in fuel production.

As of March 15, 2026, the Indian government has assured the public that there are no reported instances of gas supply dry-outs at LPG distributorships nationwide. LPG bookings have decreased, with approximately 77 lakh bookings yesterday compared to 88.8 lakh on March 13, 2026. Commercial LPG cylinders are now available to consumers in 30 States and Union Territories.
Similarly, no fuel dry-outs have occurred at petrol and diesel retail outlets, with supplies maintained regularly. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that all refineries are operating at high capacity, ensuring India's self-sufficiency in petrol and diesel production without the need for imports. Natural gas supplies to priority sectors remain at 100%, while industrial and commercial consumers receive approximately 80%.
State governments are actively enforcing measures against hoarding and black marketing of fuels, with raids conducted in several states. The government prioritizes domestic consumers and ensures uninterrupted supply for households and critical sectors like hospitals. To manage demand, booking intervals for domestic LPG have been rationalized to 25 days in urban areas and up to 45 days in rural areas.
