Next-Gen Solar: 29% Efficiency Goal Set by INA Solar Partnership
23 Oct
Summary
- Partnership aims for up to 29% module efficiency by 2028.
- New modules combine TOPCon cells with Perovskite energy glass.
- Collaboration targets reduced electricity costs and increased density.
Insolation Energy Limited (INA Solar), through its subsidiary Insolation Green Energy Private Limited, has entered a five-year strategic partnership with US-based Caelux Corporation. This collaboration is set to commercialize 3 GW of advanced solar modules by integrating Caelux's Energy Producing Glass technology with INA Solar's N-Type TOPCon platform.
The joint effort aims to develop high-efficiency Hybrid-Tandem™ solar modules. Commercial production targets module efficiency of up to 29% by 2028. This innovative technology combines TOPCon solar cells with a Perovskite-based power-generating glass layer. It is designed to enhance energy generation and increase energy density.
This strategic alliance will focus on technology validation, manufacturing readiness, and obtaining necessary regulatory approvals. The partnership strengthens INA Solar's commitment to innovation and building an integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem in India. It signifies a major step towards realizing ultra-high power density solar modules for the Indian market.
INA Solar currently operates three manufacturing facilities with a 5.5 GW annual capacity in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The company is also developing a 4.5 GW TOPCon solar cell facility and an aluminium frame manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, further solidifying its integrated solar manufacturing capabilities.
