2 Apr
Summary
- IIFCL aims to raise $1 billion via MIGA guarantee fund this quarter.
- Funds will support infrastructure development without sovereign guarantee.
- The institution reported a 39% net profit jump for fiscal year 2025.

India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL) is set to mobilize up to USD 1 billion through the MIGA guarantee fund during the current quarter. This initiative aims to support critical infrastructure development across the nation by securing long-term commercial debt without a sovereign guarantee. IIFCL is currently in advanced negotiations with several global banks to achieve this goal.
This funding strategy, in collaboration with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a World Bank Group entity, is expected to significantly reduce the financial burden on the public exchequer. IIFCL previously demonstrated its fundraising capability by successfully raising USD 500 million from Japan on its own balance sheet, a market known for its challenges.
The state-owned entity has shown robust financial performance, reporting a 39% surge in net profit to Rs 2,165 crore for the fiscal year ended March 2025. Its capital adequacy ratio stood at a strong 21% with minimal net non-performing assets at 0.03% as of December 2025.
