ICICI Prudential Asset Management has successfully garnered ₹4,815 crore from a pre-IPO placement, attracting investment from 26 high-profile investors. This private placement of equity shares was conducted at an issue price of ₹2,165 per share, signaling substantial investor appetite.
The strong backing comes from a diverse group, including sovereign funds like Lunate Capital, the estate of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, and prominent financial industry leaders such as Manish Chokani and Madhusudan Kela. Furthermore, ICICI Bank significantly increased its commitment, injecting ₹2,140 crore to acquire an additional 2% stake.
This substantial pre-IPO funding round precedes the company's upcoming offer-for-sale of up to 48,972,994 shares by its promoter, Prudential Corporation Holdings. As of September-end, ICICI Prudential AMC managed a mutual fund QAAUM of ₹10.15 lakh crore, highlighting its significant market presence.
