Hyundai Chennai Plant Fire: Production Set to Resume

Hyundai Motor India's plant in Chennai is slated to resume normal production by June 22. The disruption stemmed from a fire at the facility of its supplier, Mobis India, which provides essential automotive components. The company indicated that production pace would be restored by June 15.

Operations at Hyundai's Pune plant and another facility in Chennai were largely unaffected. The automaker forecasts that the majority of production losses incurred from the incident will be recovered within the upcoming quarter. Furthermore, Hyundai India does not anticipate any substantial impact on its June retail sales, owing to sufficient inventory levels across its dealership network.
