Hyderabad Gears Up for Census 2027 with House Listing Phase

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported that 1.27 lakh households within the Core Urban Region (CURE) successfully finished their self-enumeration for Census 2027. This phase occurred from April 26 to May 10.
Beginning May 11, enumerators have commenced House Listing Operations, which will extend until June 9. This extensive exercise will cover 19,868 House Listing Blocks (HLBs) across GHMC, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, and Secunderabad Cantonment Board. A total of 25,175 personnel are involved.
The House Listing Operations involve meticulously recording details about buildings, structures, and household amenities as per Census of India guidelines. Enumerators will use geo-tagged landmarks and census maps for on-ground verification, ensuring accurate field coverage. Buildings will be systematically numbered and marked for easy identification.
Detailed layout maps of each HLB, showing roads, landmarks, and public buildings, will be prepared. After this groundwork, enumerators will collect data using the HLO Mobile Application. Following house listing, the population enumeration is planned from February 9 to February 28, 2027, with a revisional round from March 1 to March 5.
