Jacobs has been appointed as the engineering, procurement, and construction management partner for this ambitious undertaking, collaborating with Vertiv. J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs are providing crucial financial backing, underwriting project-level financing expected to cover up to 85% of the total costs. Hut 8 has secured an initial 330 megawatts of utility capacity from Entergy Louisiana, with provisions for scaling up to an additional 1,000 megawatts.
This investment contributes to Louisiana's growing pipeline of hyperscale data center projects. At its peak, the Hut 8 project anticipates employing approximately 1,000 construction workers. Governor Jeff Landry highlighted the state's success in attracting global-scale projects in burgeoning industries.
