Significant roadworks are scheduled to begin across several major roads in Hull, commencing in phases from January 12, 2026. The affected routes include Cottingham Road, Hall Road, and Endike Lane, with Hull City Council implementing necessary road closures and diversions to manage the impact on traffic flow.
The initial phase will focus on Endike Lane, running between Keswick Gardens and Greenwood Avenue, with completion anticipated by January 23, 2026. Subsequently, improvements to the Cottingham Road and Hall Road roundabout are slated to start on February 2, 2026, and are expected to conclude by February 13, 2026.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo highlighted that these extensive repairs and upgraded pedestrian facilities will tackle road wear before it escalates, ultimately reducing accident risks and ensuring safer, more efficient travel. While acknowledging potential inconvenience, the council emphasizes careful planning to keep disruption to a minimum.
