Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) announced a significant financial achievement, with its net profit for the fourth quarter of FY26 rising by 46% year-on-year. The company's standalone net profit for this period was approximately ₹4,901.5-4,902 crore, a notable increase from the previous year's ₹3,300 crore. This robust performance was bolstered by improved refining margins and operational efficiencies.
A key contributor to HPCL's profitability was the recognition of about ₹3,300 crore as LPG under-recovery compensation from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. The company also saw its Gross Refining Margin (GRM) improve significantly, supported by stronger global product cracks. These factors helped HPCL achieve its best-ever annual earnings, crossing the ₹17,000 crore profit mark for FY26.
In recognition of its strong financial health and healthy cash flows, HPCL's board recommended a final dividend of ₹19.25 per equity share. This complements the interim dividend of ₹5 per share already distributed. The company's record profits and confident dividend payout underscore its resilience and positive outlook within India's oil and refining sector.
