A significant collaboration has been announced between Hang Seng Indexes Company (HSIL) and Korea Exchange (KRX) with the launch of the Hang Seng KRX HK-Korea Index Series. This marks the first joint cross-market index initiative between the two entities, enhancing financial connectivity between Hong Kong and Korea. The series offers investors diversified exposure to companies listed in these two major Asian financial hubs.
The inaugural series comprises four distinct indexes: the Hang Seng KRX HK-Korea LargeCap Index, the Hang Seng KRX HK-Korea TECH & Semiconductors Index, the Hang Seng KRX HK-Korea TECH Index, and the Hang Seng KRX HK-Korea Biotech & Healthcare Index. These indexes combine key benchmarks from both markets, including the Hang Seng Index and the KOSPI 200.
Officials highlighted the initiative's role in strengthening Hong Kong's position as an international financial center and providing broader access to the Korean capital market. Future plans include the introduction of additional thematic indexes to align with emerging investor interests and market dynamics. This collaboration is expected to facilitate two-way capital flows and support financial product development.
