Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has introduced a new daily Volvo bus service, enhancing connectivity between Nadaun, Hamirpur, Ghumarwin, and Delhi. This initiative is part of the state government's broader strategy to modernize public transportation, making it more accessible and environmentally sound for commuters.
The new service allows passengers to pay their fares using modern digital methods, including UPI, debit, and credit cards. Notably, HRTC has become the first state transport undertaking in India to implement the National Common Mobility Card, which facilitates seamless travel on public transport networks nationwide, including the Delhi Metro and DTC buses.
Furthermore, the state is significantly expanding its fleet with 297 new electric buses and 25 new Volvo buses, alongside tempo travellers and luxury coaches. New bus routes and permits for tempo travellers are also being introduced to improve connectivity across Himachal Pradesh.
