Global hospitality giant Hilton is set to significantly expand its presence in India through a new agreement with Regenta Hotels Private Limited. The partnership aims to introduce 125 Hampton by Hilton hotels across western and southern India by the year 2035.
This move underscores Hilton's strategy to accelerate its upper mid-scale brand expansion, driven by robust domestic travel and a burgeoning middle class demanding more mid-market hospitality options. The franchised hotels will be developed in key regions including Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
Alan Watts, President of Asia Pacific for Hilton, highlighted India's evolving travel landscape due to economic growth and infrastructure development. He emphasized the value of collaborating with established local operators like Regenta Hotels Group to rapidly scale Hilton's franchise footprint while upholding brand consistency. Chander Baljee of Royal Orchid Group noted this collaboration's potential to drive substantial growth in the mid-market segment as new economic centers emerge across India.
