Hero MotoCorp and Valeo have announced a significant strategic alliance to co-develop Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS) for two-wheelers. This collaboration, formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding on January 8, 2026, aims to usher in a new era of safety for motorcycles and scooters.
Leveraging Valeo's expertise in automotive sensing and Hero's extensive market presence, the partnership will integrate intelligent safety technologies. These systems, utilizing radar and high-resolution cameras, will provide features such as Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Pedestrian Detection, enhancing rider awareness and mitigating accident risks across all model segments.
The ARAS platform is designed for broad applicability, covering both internal combustion engine and electric two-wheelers, including those under Hero's VIDA electric mobility brand. Early trials indicate promising results, with the technology poised to make everyday riding safer and more convenient, addressing the complexities of urban traffic and protecting vulnerable road users.
