HashKey Eyes Singapore Exchange Acquisition
29 Jul
Summary
- HashKey subsidiary explores acquiring all of APEX.
- APEX holds key MAS licenses for derivatives exchange and clearing.
- Acquisition aims to enhance HashKey's financial infrastructure in Asia.

HashKey Holdings Limited announced that its Singaporean subsidiary, HKDAG (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., has entered into a non-legally binding Framework Agreement to potentially acquire all of Asia Pacific Exchange Pte. Ltd. (APEX).
APEX operates significant financial market infrastructure in Singapore. It is a licensed "Approved Exchange" (AE) by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and its member, Asia Pacific Clear Pte. Ltd., holds an "Approved Clearing House" (ACH) license. This dual licensing is held by only three market participants in Singapore.
Should the acquisition be completed, HashKey expects to enhance its institutional market execution and clearing infrastructure. This would support the development of a next-generation financial infrastructure covering trading, custody, payment, clearing, and settlement.
The proposed acquisition also aims to establish a more scalable, regulated presence for HashKey in key Asian financial markets. This is consistent with the company's strategy to build a diversified, multi-jurisdictional fintech platform operating under robust regulatory frameworks.
The acquisition is contingent on entering into definitive agreements and obtaining approval from the MAS. As of July 29, 2026, no definitive agreement has been signed, and MAS approval is pending. Therefore, the acquisition may or may not proceed. If finalized, it is expected to be a notifiable transaction under the Listing Rules.
