Summary
- A Halloween horror event ceased trading just days before its planned end.
- Hundreds of individuals are left unpaid following the event's closure.
- A local producer plans to organize a smaller event next year to create jobs.

A promising Halloween horror event, 'Halloween Haunt Fest,' operating at the Hertfordshire County Showground, has abruptly ceased trading. The company behind the popular attraction stopped operations on October 28, significantly before its scheduled conclusion on November 1. This unexpected closure has left numerous individuals, including contracted staff and performers, unpaid.
In response to the situation, a creative producer and local business owner, Phoebe Shergold-Willis, is partnering with a charity. Her aim is to salvage the remnants of the Halloween Haunt Fest and provide some form of compensation or continuation for those affected. The Hertfordshire Agricultural Society has notably acquired the event's mazes, ensuring they are not lost entirely.
Looking ahead, Shergold-Willis has announced plans to organize a smaller-scale event in the upcoming year. This initiative is intended to offer much-needed employment opportunities within the local community for individuals who missed out on work and income due to the Halloween Haunt Fest's collapse. The focus remains on rebuilding and providing support.
