Gujarat courts tech giants: SG & SK trip yields investment interest

A high-level Gujarat delegation successfully generated substantial investment interest during an eight-day outreach program in Singapore and South Korea, concluding on October 26, 2026. The visit, designed to advance preparations for the 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027, saw Bharat SemiTech propose a ₹1,000 crore semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat.

Led by Minister Arjun Modhwadia, the delegation engaged in numerous meetings, exploring sectors like semiconductors, water management, digital technology, and advanced manufacturing. In Singapore, discussions focused on strengthening economic ties and included interactions with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association. This leg featured business meetings and site visits to leading technology facilities.

Continuing to South Korea, the delegation focused on attracting investments in semiconductors, display technology, and clean energy. Engagements included visits to shipbuilding and biotechnology facilities, alongside meetings with prominent companies and industry organizations. These discussions centered on potential investments, joint ventures, and technology transfers, emphasizing Gujarat's growing industrial ecosystem.
