Greenland Mine Yields Critical Minerals Beyond Fluorite

Eclipse Metals is revitalizing the historic Ivigtût mine in southern Greenland, uncovering a valuable collection of critical minerals. Initial assay results from two diamond drill holes completed in October 2025 indicate that the project offers more than just its legacy fluorite deposit.

The drilling program yielded impressive grades, including 10 meters grading 32.2% fluorine and a separate 5-meter section assaying 23.1% fluorine. However, the presence of gallium, rubidium, niobium, tantalum, hafnium, yttrium, and polymetallic mineralization alongside the high-grade fluorine is the most significant revelation.

One drill hole intersected 122 meters grading 37 parts per million (ppm) gallium from the surface, with a notable 15-meter interval yielding 56.8 ppm gallium and 22.5% fluorine. These findings suggest multiple overlapping mineralized domains, prompting Eclipse Metals to reinterpret Ivigtût as a comprehensive critical minerals system.

Management believes that gallium could become a valuable by-product, complementing fluorine extraction. Historically, Ivigtût was the world's largest source of natural cryolite, crucial for aluminum production, with 3.8 million tonnes extracted between 1865 and 1985. The current exploration efforts aim to assess the recoverability of these newly identified strategic minerals.

Future work will focus on metallurgical studies to confirm economic recovery pathways. If successful, Ivigtût could transform from a historical fluorite mine into a strategically vital multi-commodity critical minerals project, potentially uncovering a significant strategic minerals opportunity.
