Godrej Agrovet & State Mission Boost Women Farmers

Godrej Agrovet has initiated a significant three-year partnership with the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission, aiming to empower over 5,000 women farmers across nine key cotton-growing districts in Maharashtra. The collaboration is set to foster sustainable agriculture and enhance farm productivity.

Beginning in the first year, the program will concentrate on districts such as Nagpur, Amravati, and Yavatmal, covering over 50,000 acres. It intends to mobilize Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to adopt Good Agricultural Practices and Integrated Pest Management, thereby improving crop yields.

Over the next three years, the initiative plans to scale its support to more than 5,000 SHGs throughout Maharashtra. Future plans include expanding beyond cotton cultivation to include maize and other crops, fostering broader agricultural resilience and economic upliftment for the women involved.
