A dedicated group of volunteers in Glastonbury is actively campaigning for the establishment of a direct bus route to the nearby Castle Cary railway station. The Glastonbury Train Link organization, formed by local residents, has already amassed more than £20,000 to support their goal.
Currently, the organization is in the process of applying for funding from Somerset Council's £4.3m Local Authority Bus Grant. Their proposal is to establish a pilot bus service that would operate for a duration of 12 months. This service is envisioned to run daily, from morning until night, with a targeted launch in time for the 2026 summer season.
