The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has allocated GH¢2.6 billion to Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs) to facilitate payments to cocoa farmers. This significant disbursement includes GH¢1.4 billion earmarked for settling outstanding balances owed to farmers who supplied cocoa on credit.
This latest release increases the total funds provided by COCOBOD to LBCs for the 2025/26 crop season to GH¢34.52 billion. COCOBOD is implementing monitoring mechanisms to guarantee that these funds are promptly delivered to the intended farmer beneficiaries.
COCOBOD has expressed gratitude for the farmers' patience and resilience, assuring that all farmers who legitimately sold cocoa will receive their payments. Farmers facing unpaid balances are advised to contact their respective LBCs. The board remains committed to collaborating with stakeholders to resolve all outstanding obligations and uphold the integrity of Ghana's cocoa marketing system.
