5 Jul
Summary
- Foxconn's revenue surged nearly 40% in Q2 due to AI infrastructure.
- AI server demand boosted cloud and networking business significantly.
- Company acknowledges volatile global political and economic situations.
Taiwan's Foxconn, a leading contract electronics manufacturer, announced a significant nearly 40% increase in second-quarter revenue, reaching T$2.513 trillion ($78.71 billion). This growth was largely attributed to soaring demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, which bolstered its cloud and networking business.
The company's smart consumer electronics segment, notably its iPhone assembly operations, also experienced substantial year-on-year growth. Revenue in June alone saw a remarkable 52.1% increase from the previous year, marking a record high for the month.
While Foxconn anticipates continued business expansion in the third quarter, driven by ongoing AI server rack demand, it also issued a warning regarding geopolitical risks. The company stressed the necessity of monitoring the volatile global political and economic landscape.
Despite this strong financial performance, Foxconn's shares have seen modest gains year-to-date, trailing the broader Taiwanese stock market. The company, formally Hon Hai Precision Industry, does not provide specific numerical financial guidance.
