The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has warned that these vehicles may have incorrectly installed front lower control-arm ball joints. These critical suspension components could become disconnected from the wheel knuckle, posing a serious crash risk.
Ford is explicitly advising affected owners to refrain from driving their vehicles until the issue is resolved. Owners will receive notification by mail no later than Friday, June 5, and are instructed to contact Ford customer service for a free inspection and repair. Dealerships are also prohibited from demonstrating or delivering recalled vehicles currently in stock.
This recall impacts a small fraction of the total Bronco Sport and Maverick population, suggesting a localized assembly line fault. Ford's recall activity in 2025 has been substantial, with the company recalling 19.6 million vehicles in the past 12 months, exceeding other auto manufacturers.
