Flipkart Deepens Bengal Investment: Largest Hub Fuels Growth

Flipkart is significantly increasing its long-term investment in West Bengal, focusing on expanding its supply chain infrastructure and seller network. The company highlighted West Bengal as a key hub for its operations, housing India's largest fulfillment center in Haringhata.

This extensive facility boasts a 5 million cubic feet storage capacity and advanced automation. Flipkart's presence in West Bengal supports over 120,000 direct and indirect jobs, ranging from operations to delivery. The e-commerce giant also sources fresh produce from over 500 local farmers.

Further strengthening its commitment, Flipkart has expanded its quick commerce presence and supports thousands of weavers and craftspeople through its Samarth program. CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy emphasized Flipkart's role as a long-term partner in the state's growth, driving job creation and empowering local businesses.

With over 66,000 sellers from West Bengal on its platform, Flipkart is crucial for enabling state artisans and entrepreneurs to reach markets nationwide. The Shantipur weavers alone generate substantial annual sales through Flipkart's marketplace.
