Fairlife Milk Production Resumes After Ransomware Attack
27 Jul
Summary
- Milk production restarted at Fairlife facilities following a ransomware attack.
- The attack by the Anubis group did not significantly impact product availability.
- Coca-Cola anticipates no material financial impact from the data breach.

Fairlife, a brand under Coca-Cola, has resumed the majority of milk production at its four United States facilities. This follows a ransomware attack that had shut down operations for over a week. The company is still working to restore all impacted systems and operations.
Coca-Cola has confirmed that certain data was stolen during the breach, with the ransomware group Anubis claiming responsibility. However, the company anticipates no significant impact on its business or financial condition. Retail availability of Fairlife products remained largely unaffected due to existing inventory, and product quality and safety were not compromised.
The Anubis ransomware group claims to have stolen 1 terabyte of data and locked down Fairlife's servers. This group emerged in late 2024 and has been known to gain initial access through spear-phishing emails. Coca-Cola has declined to comment on whether a ransom was paid.
