Ex-Illumina CEO deSouza Joins Google Cloud

Sanjay deSouza has been appointed to a role at Google Cloud, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous leadership positions. Before this new chapter, deSouza served as the president and CEO of Illumina, a prominent genomics company. Under his leadership, Illumina experienced significant financial growth, with revenues surpassing $4.5 billion. The company also saw substantial operational expansion, establishing a presence in over 150 countries worldwide.

DeSouza's career trajectory includes a notable period as president of products and services at Symantec. Furthermore, he demonstrated entrepreneurial acumen by founding two successful startups. Both of these ventures were subsequently acquired by industry giants Microsoft and Symantec, highlighting his ability to innovate and create value. His academic background is equally impressive, holding bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
