German marine engine giant Everllence SE is actively pursuing India as a location for local manufacturing of its two-stroke engines, essential for large commercial ships. The company plans to establish these operations through licensing agreements with Indian partners. Furthermore, Everllence is evaluating the possibility of setting up its own production facility in India dedicated to its high-speed, four-stroke 175D engine.
As the world's largest ship engine maker, Everllence aims to extend its successful global licensing model for two-stroke technology to India. These engines are critical for large vessels due to their fuel efficiency and power. Managing Director Gaby Hanna confirmed the company's interest in finding one or two Indian licensees for its two-stroke business, noting that such partnerships are standard for their global operations, involving royalty payments.
