Millions of Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers can now confirm if their 8.25% annual interest for the financial year 2025-26 has been credited. This marks a significant shift, as interest is being posted by July 15, considerably earlier than the typical October or November timeframe. The accelerated credit is attributed to EPFO's new digital platform, CITES 2.01. This upgraded system automates back-end processes, enhancing service delivery and centralizing member records for quicker processing of claims and interest posting. Subscribers can verify the credited interest through the EPFO passbook, the UMANG app, an SMS service, or a missed call facility. If the update is not immediately visible, subscribers are assured that the interest credit is a phased process and will reflect over time. EPFO clarifies that any delay in the passbook entry does not impact the total interest earned. Interest is calculated monthly on the running balance and is credited for the entire eligible period, ensuring members receive their full due amount for FY2025-26.
