Duke Energy Florida customers will benefit from an accelerated removal of storm cost recovery charges, with the reduction appearing on bills a month ahead of schedule. This adjustment follows the nearly $1.1 billion response to hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton.
Beginning in February, residential customers can expect a decrease of approximately $33 on their monthly bills, with a further $11 reduction anticipated in March. These changes will bring total savings for households to about $44 compared to January's amounts.
Commercial and industrial clients will also see their expenses decrease, with monthly bills lowered by a range of 9.6% to 15.8% starting in February. While the exact savings will depend on individual usage, this marks a significant financial relief for businesses.
