Realty major DLF Ltd has achieved a landmark sale, selling a penthouse for ₹271 crore at its new luxury housing project in Gurugram. This transaction represents one of the highest prices per square foot recorded. The project, 'The Dahlias,' launched in October 2024 within DLF Phase 5, encompasses 420 apartments and penthouses on a 17-acre site. The sold penthouse spans 17,200 sq ft of super area and 10,500 sq ft of carpet area.
On a per-square-foot basis, the penthouse sold for approximately ₹1.58 lakh on the super area and nearly ₹2.6 lakh on the carpet area. DLF projects a total revenue exceeding ₹40,000 crore from 'The Dahlias,' having already secured buyers for over 65% of its units. Apartment prices in this development range from ₹100 crore to ₹170 crore, with penthouses priced higher.
This high-value transaction aligns with a broader trend of increased demand for luxury apartments in India's major cities following the COVID-19 pandemic. Gurugram and Mumbai have been particularly active markets for substantial property sales. Despite a significant drop in sales bookings during the first quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year due to no new project launches, DLF remains confident in meeting its annual sales target of ₹20,000 crore for the fiscal year.
