Deutsche Bank is transforming corporate lending by leveraging artificial intelligence to drastically reduce decision-making times. For smaller businesses, loan approvals that once took weeks are now being processed in minutes. Multinational corporations are seeing their decision timelines shrink from months to weeks, according to Chief Technology Officer Marie-Jeanne Deverdun. The bank has developed an internal AI platform named ADA, inspired by computing pioneer Ada Lovelace, to oversee, develop, and manage AI agents, bolstering risk management.
Deverdun highlighted that cybersecurity risks associated with these advanced systems are a paramount concern, with significant resources allocated to protection. Deutsche Bank intends to invest over €2.5 billion ($2.80 billion) in technology between 2026 and 2028 to further its AI ambitions. The bank is preparing for a future where its AI agents may interact directly with clients' AI agents, emphasizing the need for clear accountability and robust controls in this evolving digital economy.
