Summary
- Three parish councils object to a new holiday park proposal.
- The proposed resort includes a water park, adventure park, and hotel.
- Concerns include economic impact and local community benefits.

Parish councils in Derbyshire are raising significant concerns over a proposed holiday park development by Great Wolf Resorts. Clowne, Whitwell, and Barlborough Parish Councils have submitted objections against the plans for a site south of Worksop Road. The development, planned for a 19.3-hectare agricultural site, includes a water park with numerous attractions, an adventure park, and a 512-room hotel.
Great Wolf Resorts, a major North American operator, stated the design has been modified to be more aesthetically pleasing and blend with the surroundings. The company projects the resort would create approximately 600 jobs and generate an additional £1m in annual local spending. However, local councils and residents question the extent of these benefits, suspecting the resort's business model will keep visitors on-site, thus minimizing economic impact on surrounding communities.
