- The order aims to update the fleet with fuel-efficient planes.

Delta Air Lines has placed an order for an additional 34 Airbus A321neo aircraft. This expansion will bring Delta's total commitment to the A321neo model to 189 jets.
Deliveries of these new planes are slated to commence in 2029. The acquisition is part of Delta's broader initiative to update its fleet with more fuel-efficient aircraft that feature a greater number of premium seats.
The A321neo is designated to play a crucial role in Delta's strategy for both domestic and shorter international routes. It offers the lowest operating cost per seat among the airline's narrowbody jets and provides superior premium seating.
This latest order follows recent fleet announcements from Delta in January, including an order for 30 Boeing 787-10 jets and 31 Airbus widebody aircraft, further demonstrating the airline's proactive fleet management.
These new A321neo aircraft will be equipped with Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, produced by RTX. This move signifies Delta's continued investment in newer, more efficient aircraft to enhance its passenger experience and operational efficiency.
