Summary
- Deloitte plans to hire 50,000 professionals in India.
- The company focuses on upskilling staff to solve complex problems.
- India is a top priority market with significant investment.

Deloitte South Asia COO Nitin Kini stated that the company's recruitment of 50,000 professionals in India is focused on upskilling employees for advanced business problem-solving. He believes AI will enhance efficiency rather than cause job losses.
The consulting firm is expanding aggressively in India, a market representing nearly a third of its global workforce. Deloitte invests 9% of its revenue into capability building and innovation, with plans for a new Quantum Centre of Excellence.
Kini noted that Indian Public Sector Undertakings and conglomerates are hesitant to deploy AI beyond pilot stages due to data security and potential cost overruns from paid models.
Addressing India's role in AI, Kini advocated for the nation to be both an "AI factory" and a "cyber shield," aiming for dual ambitions like the country's youth.
Deloitte has already trained approximately 30,000 employees on AI, with another 20,000 transitioning to work with proprietary platforms.
