Summary
- Dahl Automotive acquired Happy Hyundai and Chrysler dealerships.
- The sale includes dealerships on Rochester's historic Car Row.
- Dahl Automotive is a fifth-generation company dating back to 1911.

New signage for Dahl Automotive has been installed on Rochester's Car Row, signaling a change in ownership for the former Happy Hyundai and Happy Chrysler dealerships. Dahl Automotive, a family-owned company with a history stretching back to 1911, is set to officially announce its purchase of these businesses this Wednesday morning.
The dealerships, located at 4800 N U.S. Highway 52 and 4748 N U.S. Highway 52, will now operate under the Dahl banner. They specialize in new and used Hyundai, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles. These operations were previously owned by Jim Spellman and Bret Matthews, who acquired them in July 2023 when they were known as Adamson Motors.
Adamson Motors itself has a rich heritage in Rochester, originally founded by Joe Adamson in 1953. The dealership moved to its "Car Row" location in 1974. Happy owners Spellman and Matthews sold the 73-year-old Rochester business, which was their only Minnesota presence. Dahl Automotive's acquisition continues its expansion, adding to its existing dealerships in Wisconsin and Winona, Minnesota.
