Critica's Jupiter Rare Earths Advance: Optimized Pilot Plant Yields Strong Results
14 Apr
Summary
- Pilot plant achieved 81% MREO and 71% TREO recovery rates.
- Jupiter project boasts 1.8 billion tonnes global resource.
- Deposit is rich in magnet rare earths, with low uranium/thorium.

Critica Limited has reported significant progress at its Jupiter rare earths project, achieving stronger recovery rates through pilot plant optimization. The project delivered an 81 per cent recovery of magnet rare earth oxides (MREO) and 71 per cent recovery of total rare earth oxides (TREO).
These enhanced results are vital for the MREO component, essential for electric motors. They sharpen Jupiter's beneficiation pathway ahead of key engineering decisions. The Jupiter project is a massive clay-hosted resource in Western Australia's Mid West, holding a global resource of 1.8 billion tonnes.
It is positioned as potentially Australia's largest and highest-grade clay-hosted rare earths resource. The deposit is rich in neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium, crucial magnet rare earths. Mineralisation spans 40 square kilometres with exceptionally low uranium and thorium levels.
