Coupang Data Breach Worsens: 165K More Users Affected

South Korean e-commerce company Coupang has confirmed a further data leak, impacting an additional 165,000 users. This disclosure occurs while a government investigation into a larger breach announced last November is ongoing. The recent leak involves the exposure of customer contact details, including names, phone numbers, and addresses.

Coupang has stated that critical information such as payment details, login credentials, emails, and order histories were not compromised. The company has taken steps to notify the affected users, adhering to government guidance. It was clarified that these newly identified cases are not a separate incident but are related to the breach initially disclosed in November, which affected over 33 million customers.
