CEO Vows: Iconic Costco Hot Dog Price Won't Rise
25 Mar
Summary
- Costco's CEO assured the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo price is stable.
- The retailer has maintained this value despite rising costs elsewhere.
- Costco reported strong Q2 sales, with net sales at $68.24 billion.

Costco CEO Ron Vachris recently affirmed that the company's iconic $1.50 hot dog and soda combo will remain at its current price. Speaking from a Costco food court, Vachris stated, "The hot dog price will not change as long as I'm around," emphasizing its "amazing quality" and "amazing value."
This announcement brings stability to shoppers concerned about inflation, as Costco has a history of defending this near-mythic price point. Previously, then-CFO Richard Galanti had vowed the price would remain "forever," though recent comments had briefly revived concerns.
The CEO's assurance comes as Costco announced robust financial performance. For the second quarter ended February 15, net sales climbed to $68.24 billion, a 9.1% increase year-over-year. Total revenue also surpassed expectations at $69.60 billion, with membership fees rising to approximately $1.36 billion.
